It's Our People, Our Family, That Makes Our Market Great.
Deborah Armstrong, Store Manager
At the age of 20 I went to work for my dad at Barbur Foods which he owned for thirty years. When John bought the family business in 2004 I knew things were going to change drastically and I knew it was for the best. John quickly transformed Barbur Foods into Barbur "World" Foods and it became a local neighborhood store with a flare of world-wide flavors. Little did I know what a chickpea was (for all of you who don't know a chickpea is another word for garbanzo bean and one of our best sellers). As the years progress, my knowledge in the food industry continues to grow. Every day I am excited to meet vendors, taste new product, and see new and familiar faces.

Rick DeAngelo, Assistant Manager
I have worked in grocery retail for over 30 years (29 at Fred Meyer), and love working for a store where "We bring the world to you". We are not just your small neighborhood store, we are a store where you can come and shop not only for your bread and milk but anything else you may need for your full Middle Eastern or European menu. Even after 30 years Barbur World Foods has proven you're never too old to learn new things, expand your horizons, and be ready to "Taste the World".

Kkanaz Eshak, Assistant Grocery Manager
I've been working at Barbur World Foods for almost 5 years now, and I've added to my experience in retail and wholesale a great deal, because this is a very unique grocery supermarket. Every day you learn something different. This place is about special foods and a great source for a lot of culture. We learn through the variety of foods and the communication we get from customers and vendors we meet daily. We have customers from a wide variety of countries; American, Greek, German, Middle Eastern, Persian, Indian, Turkish, Asian, Russian, European and more! Through this mixture, we are trying to put smile on our customer's faces by providing items unique to worldwide holidays and offering what they cannot find anywhere else all in one place! That is why our motto is "We Bring The World To You".
